July 4th, 2005 Mafia's murder mystery
Wow, It had been a long time since my last Mafia game at Labor Day retreat 2004. Well, this year retreat my friends wanted me to narrated another Mafia game on the last night. This one was pretty good, better than average. The setting was at a movie set in mid 70s. Steven Spielberg was supposed to shoot his first film there. I haven't played for a while so it off to a sluggish start. (Remember, always wake the cops up first, then the killers, then kill! I woke the killers up first, then the cops, so I had to attempt on the director in order to jump start the game).
The on-the-fly plot was pretty good, here's the sequence of the clues: 1) Steven didn't show up because someone smack him in the back of his skull. 2) Police was looking for a white pick-up truck seen infront of his house. 3) Police was looking for the truck with the license plate CL1N73. 4) There were rumors that Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg hate each other over women. 5) Steven's wife filed for a divorce due to his affair. 6) The penultimate victim was killed by slashing throat. 7) The photograph of Clint Eastwood truck found parking infront of Steven house BUT in actuality, the car was never left Clint's garage and he had airtight proof of it. 8) The final victim was killed by a long-range shot with scope.
SPOILER:
The pair of murderers were the photographer (male) and the caterer (female). He was framing Clint Eastwood to cover for his lover's revenge on Steven for abadon her to focus on his career.
Other things I noticed: Smart guy lay low and only emerge at the last few rounds.
It's almost time for me to cram for my birthday bash...
